Metalform is a family-owned design and manufacturing company with a proud 60-year heritage. Based in Dannevirke, our 100+ strong team creates innovative, NZ-made agricultural solutions – including our Tow and Fert range of fertiliser sprayers, exported around the globe.
We are looking for a hands-on, self-directed service technician to join the Tow and Fert team. You will be the primary technical support and service presence for Tow and Fert clients across the North Island, working from a base in Dannevirke or Palmerston North and spending the majority of your time on the road.
A new ute is provided, and you will manage your own schedule to keep clients’ machines running at their best.
What you’ll be doing
- Travelling the North Island to service, repair, and commission Tow and Fert machines on-farm
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Delivering new machines to clients and providing operational training
- Managing parts ordering, invoicing, and inventory through our computer-based systems
- Providing remote technical support to clients over phone and video
- Attending field days and trade shows to represent Metalform
- Coordinating proactively with the sales team to ensure a smooth customer experience
What you’ll bring
- A trade qualification in mechanics, engineering, or a related discipline, OR strong time-served experience in a mechanical or agricultural trade
- Confidence working independently and planning your own days on the road
- Comfort with computer systems – invoicing, parts management, and inventory tools
- Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to help customers
- Current full NZ driver licence; forklift licence is a bonus
- Good physical fitness – the role involves hands-on work in all conditions
